Asana Intensive
This Immersion offers students an invitation to dive deep into the richness of yoga. We immerse ourselves in yogic practices, studying Asana, as well as delving into breathwork, meditation, and philosophy. This life-enhancing process is transformative, and offers you an opportunity to connect with your spiritual essence and radiant heart!
This Program is open to all students with a minimum of 30 hours of Yoga experience, as well as teachers who wish to enhance their understanding of these practices.
The Intensive offers a solid foundation from which to share Yoga, if you wish to move forward into teaching in the future.
The Intensive Program includes:
- Full range of asana practice and study within the Principles of Alignment
- Loops, Spirals, and Focal Points
- Basic anatomy as it applies to yoga poses
- Yoga philosophy, including the life-affirming Tantric philosophy; Vedanta and Classical yoga philosophy; Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras; and the Bhagavad Gita
- Pranayama and meditation practices
- Journaling and discussions
- ESY notebook of handouts presented and discussed in class
Each day includes 6.75 hours of various practices: asana (poses), meditation and pranayama (breathing practices), philosophy, anatomy, journaling, and group discussions. You will truly be immersed in the teachings!
There will also be an anatomy book required; this information will be posted closer to the start of the program. You will receive handouts throughout the Immersions and there will be additional texts and readings suggested.

$650+HST if Paid By May 16th $700+HST on or after May 16th
The cost includes all the training plus a ESY immersion notebook with handouts. The cost of lodging and meals is not included.
30% discount for repeat students who have completed the same level of Immersion at another studio.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICIES
A $200 deposit is required to reserve your space. The deposit is refundable until one week before the Intensive weekend begins, minus a $50 cancellation fee. No refunds are given for any reason after one week prior to the Intensive, unless your space can be filled from a waiting list. Refund requests must be made in writing and received one week before the Intensive begins.
The fee includes the training only. Lodging and meals are separate.

Betsey Downing, Ph.D., E-RYT-500, has been a yoga practitioner since 1972 and a meditator since 1974. She teaches from a deep well of wisdom and practical knowledge, and loves empowering students with progressive techniques to move them beyond their perceived limits. Betsey’s teaching is vibrant with her passion for yoga and special expertise in progressive teaching.
One of the earliest certified teachers in Anusara Yoga, Betsey was the founder of Garden of the Heart Yoga Center in Sarasota, FL and directed that center for 8 years. She now leads workshops, Immersions, and teacher trainings in the U.S. and abroad. Betsey also holds a Ph.D. in Sport Psychology from the University of Virginia. She lives in Lakewood Ranch, FL with her husband Dave and their dog Teddy.
